What is the Print & Hardcover Pack?

An upgrade for the GiftCase Studio app you just bought. It adds a “Print & Hardcover Pack” tool to the Export step of every case. Choose a printer preset and paper, and download a ZIP with interior.pdf, cover.pdf and print-specs.txt.

Why do I need this?

You don’t need it to print at home or at a copy shop: the standard PDF and the booklet option already do that. The pack is for when you want a bound paperback or hardcover from a print-on-demand service, which needs a specially prepared interior and a full-wrap cover.

Do I need anything else to make it work?

Only GiftCase Studio, which you already have, and an account with the print-on-demand service you choose (for example Amazon KDP or Lulu). The upgrade is added to the same account. Open the app, go to Your account and click “Check now”, or sign in again, and the pack appears on the Export step.

Is this a one-time upgrade?

Yes. You pay once. There is no subscription and no monthly fee. Printing costs are paid to the printer you choose.

Does it work for hardcover books?

Yes. The interior is prepared the same way. Hardcover cover sizes depend on each printer’s boards and are not published as a formula, so the app links you to that printer’s free cover calculator: type in the width, height and spine it gives you, and the cover is built to those numbers.

Are there any page limits?

Each printer has its own minimum and maximum page count (for example 75 to 550 pages for a KDP hardcover). The app tells you if a book is outside the range and adds notes pages when a book is a little short.
